Group Projects & One-Time Events

One time group projects are an excellent team building opportunity for corporate engagement or to fulfill volunteer hours. Come with your family, friends, company or team, roll up your sleeves and help your community!

Corporate Volunteer Partners

A corporate partnership with Center For Family Services is a unique opportunity for your company to demonstrate corporate social responsibility and positively engage with your employees. As a corporate partner, you will create lasting change in your community. Your investment will help to remove barriers that prevent children and families from thriving, support immediate needs, and provide children with increased opportunities for success. Together we can set young people on a path to reach their full potential.

Program Descriptions

Annual Empower Run & Walk

Each year in September, Center For Family Services hosts an Empower Run & Walk to benefit children and families who are healing from trauma, rebuilding their lives after escaping violence, or seeking a path to recovery. Your involvement will strengthen services that change lives. Volunteers assist with various facets of the event such as setting up the course, directing traffic, registering runners, directing participants on the course, operating the snack and water stations, and cheering at the finish line! Holiday Gift Project

Volunteers are needed to raise funds which will be used to purchase holiday gifts for children in the care of Safe & Supportive Housing programs, and families in critical need. You can use your talents to fundraise and spread the word. Some examples include

  • Leading a yoga class for a fee that will be donated
  • Hosting a bake sale in your workplace or school
  • Creating arts or crafts to sell
  • If you’re a business owner, giving a discount to folks who make a donation

Companies can lead a matching gifts campaign to encourage employees to get involved and double the impact of their individual donations.

You can also host a collection of gift cards that will be provided directly to families so they can purchase a holiday meal and gifts for their children.

If you would like to help share the need for holiday gifts or host a fundraiser among your friends, school, or workplace, we can help you. Contact holidaygiftproject@centerffs.org.

Hope Mobile

Each month, Center For Family Services, along with the Food Bank of South Jersey and community residents, hosts our Hope Mobile food distribution. With food insecurity being such an issue for the children and families here in Camden City, you can join us to provide fresh and healthy foods to the families we serve. Volunteers unload, sort, and distribute food to families. Hope Mobile takes place in Camden City on the morning on the third Wednesday of every month.

Project Backpack

Each year in August, Center For Family Services hosts Project Backpack, a fundraising campaign that equips local students with the supplies they need to return to school prepared, confident, and ready to learn! Volunteers are needed to help fundraise to provide high-quality, sturdy backpacks to children living in Safe and Supportive Housing programs and children in families that are in critical need.

Companies can lead a matching gifts campaign to encourage employees to get involved and double the impact of their individual donations.

You can also host a collection of gift cards that will be provided directly to families so they can purchase backpacks and the specific school supplies their children need to return to their classrooms.

Volunteers can also organize donation drives for high-quality backpacks in your workplace or community to support Project Backpack. To learn more about Project Backpack, click here.

Stand.Speak.Empower.

Each year in April, Center For Family Services’ SERV program hosts outreach and awareness events as an ongoing initiative to stop the spread of violence in our community. Volunteers can participate in Denim Days to take a stand against sexual violence by wearing denim on Fridays and making a $5 donation to the Denim Dollars Campaign. Volunteers can be outreach ambassadors by starting a denim dollars campaign in their office, school, or organization. To learn more about how you can participate in Stand. Speak. Empower, click here.

Building & Landscaping

Currently, we have opportunities for volunteers to participate in gardening and landscaping projects at our locations in Gloucester County. These opportunities change throughout the year. For many of these projects, we will ask volunteers to assist with providing tools or supplies for the project.
